A passenger was medevaced from a Norwegian Cruise Line's ship off Southern California.
According to the Coast Guard, Norwegian Star requested assistance on Thursday morning, January 31, because a 68-year-old passenger was displaying heart condition symptoms.
The vessel was 310 miles (500 kilometers) at sea and was diverted toward shore, meeting a CG helicopter 200 miles (320 kilometers) west of San Diego.
The man was hoisted aboard the helicopter and immediately flown to San Diego, where emergency medical services personnel transferred the patient to UC San Diego Medical Center, Hillcrest.
The passenger was reportedly in stable condition.
