Viking Cruises announced that it took delivery of the company's 6th ocean ship, Viking Jupiter.
The official delivery ceremony took place Thursday morning, February 7, when the vessel was presented at Fincantieri's shipyard (Ancona, Italy).
On February 16, Jupiter will be the first in the fleet of Viking to sail the Journey to Antiquities itinerary, which is a new itinerary between Athens and Rome offering passengers the chance to experience the beauty of the Mediterranean during the quiet season.
During her maiden season, Viking Jupiter will offer itineraries throughout the Mediterranean and Scandinavia.
The newbuild will officially be named in Oslo on June 6 by her ceremonial godmother, the acclaimed Norwegian soprano Sissel Kyrkjebo.
