A 74-year-old Australian passenger who fell ill on a Celebrity Cruises ship in Argentina was airlifted to hospital.
Local media announced that the elderly man collapsed onboard Celebrity Eclipse about 485 kilometers from Port Rawson, southern Argentina.
The doctor reportedly unveiled the traveler was struggling to breathe and had low blood pressure.
The patient was airlifted from the cruise ship after the onboard doctor became increasingly concerned about his deteriorating health.
The Argentine Navy organized a rescue helicopter with paramedics and military members as well as aircraft support.
The helicopter landed on the vessel's helipad and the man was immediately flown to the hospital.
No updates on his condition have been revealed.
At the time of the accident the ship was sailing on 14-days, round-trip Antarctica cruise from Buenos Aires.
