Avalon Waterways plans to introduce its 17th suite-only ship on the Rhine River in 2020.
Avalon View will be the 2nd suite-only vessel to launch over the next couple of years after the delivery of Avalon Envision in April 2019 on the Danube River.
Both river ships are 443-feet long with a pair of 300-square-feet Royal Suites as well as sixty-five 200-square feet Panorama Suites on 2 full decks, and sixteen 170-square-feet staterooms.
According to the cruise company, Panorama Suites are 30% bigger than standard industry staterooms. Each of the Panorama Suites has wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows that are referred to as Open-Air Balconies.
Avalon Affinity, Felicity and Luminary, which feature fewer than 80% suites, were taken out of service in 2018. The move was part of Avalon Waterways' plans to operate a suite-only fleet in 2019.
Company's first "Suite Ship" - Avalon Panorama - was introduced 8 years ago.
