DNV GL was awarded a contract for the classification of the Sea Cloud Spirit ship, built by Metalships & Docks in Vigo. Representatives from both companies came together in Vigo, Spain to sign the agreement.
Ordered by Hamburg-based Sea Cloud Cruises, the new ship is designed to meet the growing demand from both the charter market and independent travelers, mainly in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.
Measuring 138 meters, Sea Cloud Spirit is due to be equipped with a total of 69 outside staterooms, 25 of which will feature a private balcony. The ship is a full 3-masted sailing vessel, able to accommodate up to 136 guests on luxury voyages, with 85 crew members onboard.
The planning company Partner Ship Design will be responsible for the design of the interior of the ship.
Sea Cloud Spirit is due to set sail in the summer of 2020.
