Ponant will offer a new 10-night voyage of Costa Rica and Panama in January 2020. A part of the new Quintessential Collection, An Exploration in Nature in Costa Rica & The Panama Canal is due to visit 3 national parks and features a guest speaker who has firsthand experiences at nature reserves in Central America.
Passengers will make their first major stop at Curu National Park, that is the home of more than 200 species of butterflies, 300 species of birds, and 10,000 species of plants. Other highlights include Corcovado National Park, Manuel Antonio National Park, the UNESCO-recognized Darien Jungle, a Panama Canal transit, San Blas Islands, Holandes Cayes.
Joining passengers as a guest speaker is Paul Donahue, experienced in conducting a natural history and birding tours of the region. Since 1972, he has spent his career working with animals in nature reserves around Central America.
Le Dumont dUrville will pick up travellers at Puerto Caldera in Puntarenas on January 6, 2020, and drop them off in Colon on January 16. The ship will debut in the summer of 2019, sailing European itineraries before heading to the Caribbean.
