MSC Orchestra collided with MSC Poesia on Wednesday, February 20, during a maneuver in Port Buenos Aires (Argentina), hard enough to leave a mark.
MSC Orchestra slowly bumped her starboard side against the bow of Poesia moored to the pier.
It's still unclear why MSC Orchestra was so close to her sistership during the maneuver and is under investigation by the port authorities. A local pilot was on the bridge. The ship was supported by a pair of tug boats.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported. The damage was not so great and both ships could continue their voyage as planned. Local media reported a slightly damaged lifeboat on Deck 7 of MSC Orchestra. At the bow of MSC Poesia, the collision left a clearly visible scratch.
MSC Orchestra is sailing on an 8-day South American voyage, which includes stops in Brazil and Uruguay, prior to returning to Buenos Aires on February 28. MSC Poesia is on a 5-day cruise with a stop in Uruguay ending on February 24 in Brazil.
