Hurtigruten’s Roald Amundsen is currently nearing completion at Kleven Yard in Ulsteinvik. Over the weekend, the first hybrid-powered cruise ship in the world completed her first sea trials in the fjords along Norway's western coast.
Custom built for some of the planet's most extreme waters, MS Roald Amundsen is undergoing final outfitting along with her sistership MS Fridtjof Nansen.
After her delivery in spring, Roald Amundsen’s maiden season is due to include expedition voyages along the Norwegian coast, to Greenland and Svalbard, prior to traversing the Northwest Passage and heading to Antarctica.
