Avalon Waterways revealed shorter cruise offers for 2020 that will cater to time-strapped travelers who want to “dip their toes” in river cruises, a press release said.
The new 4-, 5- and 6-day river cruise itineraries feature unique tours of Germany, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia and Holland. The 4-day "A Taste of the Danube" cruisetour offers Danube cruising, spending time in Budapest, Durnstein, and Vienna. Fares begin at US$1100 per person. On the next tier is the 5-day A Taste of the Rhine which sails on the Rhine River, taking travelers on a culinary walk in Amsterdam, a tour of Cologne, and includes wine tastings and views of German castles. Prices begin at US$2,000 per person.
The last offering is the 6-day Heart of Germany journey with a taste of the best of German culture. The itinerary includes guided Bavarian villages' tours, sailings along Main-Danube Canal, beer and wine tastings, spectacular castle views as well as a final stop in Nuremberg. Fares begin at US$2,099 per person.
In addition to the short itineraries, Avalon announced that it is adding an option for vacationers to opt for additional land itineraries in order to extend their European trips. The new Your Way option lets them add the ideal amount of time they wish to spend on land while they’re traveling on an Avalon Waterways cruise.
