American Cruise Lines announces the name of the 3rd newbuild riverboat in company's Modern Riverboat Series.

MS American Jazz is due to be slightly larger than both the first and second vessels in the series and will feature the advanced opening bow and retractable gangway that are already seen on the sisterships American Harmony and American Song.

American Jazz is currently under construction at Chesapeake Shipbuilding, Salisbury MD and is on schedule to start cruising the Mississippi River in 2020.

American Cruise Lines has five modern riverboats planned for the series and now operates the newest and biggest fleet of American-built ships in the country.

This year, while work is underway on the new American Jazz, sistership American Song is sailing itineraries on the Columbia & Snake Rivers while American Harmony begins cruising the Mississippi in August.
