A 57-year-old male passenger had been taken by medical helicopter off a Carnival cruise ship Monday night, May 13, the U.S. Coast Guard announced. Carnival Dream was sailing 66 miles offshore of her home port, Galveston TX when the duty flight surgeon recommended a medevac.
An Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter hoisted the patient together with a doctor to Scholes International Airport, Galveston, where emergency medical services personnel was waiting to take over.
