Port Kiel (Germany) welcomed AIDAprima at Ostseekai Terminal for her maiden call on May 17. Arriving from Dubai UAE, the liner concluded her transfer journey and berthed at Ostseekai Terminal early Friday morning. At the onboard reception, the port’s Managing Director, Dr Dirk Claus, welcomed President of AIDA Cruises, Felix Eichhorn, together with Captain Marc-Dominique Tidow in the port of Kiel and presented them with an official plaque for the inaugural call of the ship.
Starting in 2020, AIDA Cruises will be the port’s first client to be supplied with on-shore power at Ostseekai Terminal. This season, AIDAprima will begin 23 cruises from Kiel and will, therefore, be the fjord's most frequent guest. The voyages throughout Northern Europe take the cruise ship to the Baltic metropolises with ports of call among others including Helsinki, Tallinn, St Petersburg, and Nynashamn close to Stockholm, as well as along the Norwegian coast with shore trips in Alesund, Bergen, Eidfjord, and Nordfjordeid.
AIDAprima will finish her season in Northern Europe on October 12, 2019, and will head for the Mediterranean.
