Carnival Sunshine launched a schedule of 4- to 11-day cruises from homeport Charleston SC, thus becoming the newest vessel to operate year-round roundtrips from the seaport.
On Saturday, May 18, Carnival Sunshine inaugural festivities included a luncheon for VIPs, travel advisors, and local officials during which Carnival Cruise Line made a donation to the homeless assistance centre One80 Place. Over the years, Charleston-based vessels have donated hundreds of dishes, chairs, mattresses, and other items for use at the facility.
Carnival Sunshine’s schedule out of Charleston includes 4- and 5-day itineraries to the Bahamas, 6- and 7-day cruises to Bermuda and the Caribbean, as well as the first-ever Cuba voyages from Charleston with 5-day sailings visiting Havana.
Longer, 10- and 11-day Carnival Journeys to the Caribbean are also offered, with day-long visits to tropical islands, the chance to sample local cuisine, entertainment and activities such as a retro Throwback Sea Day.
With Sunshine repositioning to Charleston, Carnival Ecstasy is homeported in Jacksonville FL for year-round 4- to 7-day Bahamas and Caribbean cruises. The previously based in Jacksonville Carnival Elation repositions to Port Canaveral for a new 4- and 5-day Bahamas and Caribbean schedule from the Space Coast.
