Following a 2-week makeover in the Philippines, Heritage Expeditions' ship Spirit of Enderby (Professor Khromov) is now cruising into the pioneering Russian season of the expedition company with a brand new look.
The 35-year-old former polar research ship is reliving her heyday boasting a freshly painted exterior. Spirit of Enderby's accommodations and hallways were spruced up with new wallpapers and skirting. Laminate aluminium plates were fixed to the lower half of the hallway walls in order to create a dynamic aesthetic which reflects her industrious lineage.
Bathrooms were also refurbished with new floors. New light fittings were installed throughout the vessel. The refit coincided with the recent installation of Wi-Fi internet access onboard and followed the refit of the lecture theatre, dining room, bar, lounge, and library last year.
Spirit of Enderby is currently sailing en route to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy where the vessel will launch the Russian season with ‘Russia’s Ring of Fire’ expedition at the end of May.
