The Philippines' cruise industry is set to increase as more cruise companies visit the growing number of ports.
This year, Royal Caribbean is bringing their newbuild Spectrum of the Seas to Salomague and Subic Bay while Costa Cruises are making more frequent visits as well.
Most cruise ships visit Manila, Boracay, and Palawan. A good number also call at Ilocos, especially during China's winter months.
Manila continues to be the main port, capable of doing turnarounds. However, other areas like Subic Bay are quickly developing into cruise destinations. In 2017, the Philippines only had 1 cruise visit there and then, in 2018, they had a total of 20 cruise visits.

The Philippines also plans to open a brand new mega cruise terminal in the port of Manila by late 2021. Solaire Cruise Center will berth two large cruise ships at once and will be situated within Solaire Resort in the Entertainment City of Manila.
The connectivity of the location could potentially transfer passengers to Ninoy Aquino International Airport in just 15 minutes or less, catering for fly cruisers.
