Disney Cruise Line announced it is adding a New Orleans-themed lounge on its Disney Wonder ship to celebrate The Princess and the Frog.
Wonder's French Quarter Lounge complements Tiana’s Place Restaurant and features live music and themed family activities. The facility is expected to boast a life-size trolley car, as well as to provide live music on the gazebo stage, speciality drinks at an updated whimsical bar, and New Orleans-themed character encounters and trivia.
In addition to the French Quarter Lounge, Disney Wonder will also boast a new space for teens along with a redesigned cafe for adults. The Vibe club, reserved for teens ages 14-17, is a contemporary place to hang out with friends. A new coffee bar and updated VRT (virtual reality technology) add to the teens' activities to enjoy in the exclusive club. Adults' Cove Cafe is due to receive the look of a local coffee shop with beverage tastings available at select times for a fee.
The new enhancements debut on Disney Wonder’s 4-night cruise from Vancouver to San Diego CA on September 30. The vessel will also feature various ports of call and itineraries throughout the year, such as summer sailings to Alaska, voyages to the Mexican Riviera, the Caribbean and Bahamas.
Disney Wonder will call New Orleans home for the first time in 2020 with the Caribbean and Bahamian itineraries departing from NOLA beginning February 7.
