The Alaskan US Coast Guard was called on to evacuate an unwell female cruise passenger on Wednesday, June 12. The 62-year-old woman was rescued from ms Nieuw Amsterdam close to Skagway Alaska.
An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter was dispatched from the Coast Guard air station in Sitka to medevac the patient. The USCG didn't provide any information about the traveler or why she needed to be evacuated from the ship.
This comes just about a day after CG crews rescued a 61-year-old woman with cardiac problems from Island Princess near Bligh Island on the eastern side of Prince William Sound.
