Windstar Cruises announced it is opening a new specialty restaurant named "Cuadro 44" (Spanish for “Frame 44”) via collaboration with renowned chef Anthony Sasso. When built, ships are mapped out into areas called frames, so the new restaurant will be located in frame 44.
The menu (created by Chef Sasso) will showcase Spain's coastal areas, extending from Basque region to northern Cantabrian Sea to Mediterranean-tinged eastern parts of Catalonia, Alicante and Valencia. He is also expected to create dishes inspired by Jerez and Andalusia.
Designed by Director of Design for The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry, Ray Chung, Windstar’s new dining venue will seat 38 guests and include a chef’s counter where clients can watch the culinary team in action. The new concept is adorned by tiled floors with a mosaic of colours and features wine displays.
"Cuadro 44 by Anthony Sasso" is scheduled to debut first on Star Breeze in February 2020, followed by Star Legend (July 2020) and Star Pride (November 2020). The first visited ports for all 3 ships’ post-refurbishment will be in Spain.
Windstar's newest dining concept and the creation of the brand-new venue are part of company’s USD 250 million "Star Plus" fleet renovation program.
