Port of Aalborg and Visit Aalborg introduced a new policy to limit the number of cruise ship calls to one per day, allowing them to give passengers the “best possible experience” in the Danish port city.
The move was prompted by the increasing number of cruise vessels and passengers visiting the only inland cruise port of Denmark.
Over the past 5 years, passenger numbers have increased from less than 1,000 annually in 2014 to 40,000 in 2018. Numbers are set to grow further – 34 visits have been scheduled for this year and 45 are booked for 2020.
