A Greek ferryboat was filmed as it battled with the waves on Sunday, June 30, while approaching Port Naxos (Naxos Island, Greece), as fresh gale force winds of up to 8 Beaufort scale (39-46 mph / 62-74 kph) swept Aegean Sea.
Paros Jet's captain stabilized the ship carrying hundreds of travelers as it tilted violently. He waited for the all-clear from the authorities before the ferry entered the port, where other vessels were docked. All passengers were able to disembark safely.
Meanwhile, Hellenic Seamens’ Federation declared a 24-hour strike on Wednesday, July 3. The Federation decided to proceed with strike action as their demands had not been satisfied in a recent proposal by shipowners regarding collective labor agreements.
