MS World Dream embarked on its inaugural voyage from Kaohsiung Taiwan marking the latest in a series of events launched to celebrate Genting Cruise Lines' 25th anniversary.
The official event recognized the support and partnerships of the various business partners and organizations that have played a role in the growth of Genting Cruises in Taiwan. The Ministry of Transportation and Communications also presented the company with the ‘Innovative Contribution Award’ in recognition of how Genting has supported the development of cities, ports, and the cruise industry throughout the country.
The occasion provided guests with the opportunity to experience an exclusive preview of the new Global Class ship of Dream Cruises through a specially built preview cabin that was showcased on World Dream.
At the event, Genting also co-hosted a cruise forum with Taiwan International Ports Corp. and International Cruise Council Taiwan aboard World Dream to discuss further development of Taiwan's cruise industry.
World Dream is the largest cruise vessel ever homeported in Taiwan (Keelung and Kaohsiung). The deployment is throughout July-August 2019. It will draw in 10,000+ cruisers and contribute USD 5+ million to the local economy.
GHK-Genting will also expand its fleet presence in the country by deploying Explorer Dream in Taiwan for the first time too.
