A power outage on a Carnival Cruise Line's ship plunged parts of it into darkness and left guests without elevators or air conditioning.
Carnival Vista lost power during a Caribbean voyage Wednesday evening, July 3, according to company's brand ambassador John Heald, who wrote on Facebook that Vista had "lost some of the power from the midship to the forward section of the vessel", so they had no lighting and the elevators and air-conditioning systems were not working but they had confirmed nobody was inside the elevators.
Around 10 minutes after the first post, Heald shared an update which stated that engineers were "slowly restoring the power" and lights and air conditioning was back on across the vessel. Carnival Vista continued with her sailing and the itinerary was not affected.
In June, Carnival canceled 3 of Vista's July cruises to allow drydocking to fix vessel's propulsion system /azipods.
