Mexican Navy personnel evacuated a 92-year-old American passenger from a cruise ship bound for Honduras after the woman experienced complications related to high blood pressure.
Navy and crew members on the ship helped transfer the traveler and her family while the vessel was sailing off Isla Mujeres to Naval Station of Puerto Juarez.
Back on dry land, the woman was transported by an ambulance to a hospital in Cancun.
The patient experienced brain-related complications of arterial hypertension (high blood pressure in the arteries). The condition increases the risk of vascular brain disease.
The rescue operation took place on NCL's Norwegian Breakaway. The cruise liner was on a 7-night roundtrip from Miami FL to Honduras, Belize and Mexico.
