In the early hours Wednesday morning, August 14, a passenger aboard RCI-Royal Caribbean's liner Symphony of the Seas has gone overboard during a sailing from St Kitts to St Thomas USVI.
Following a report that a male Australian national was missing, Symphony OTS turned and launched a rescue boat, RCI revealed. After a full-scale search, the ship's crew recovered the body of the victim. The cruise line said that it was working closely with authorities and will assist in the ongoing investigation.
Symphony OTS resumed the voyage, and as of Wednesday night, the vessel was underway for RCI's private island CocoCay. On Saturday, August 18, the cruise ship is due to return to her homeport of Miami FL.
