On Saturday, August 31, Viking Cruises' passengers will embark on the line's new Ultimate World Cruise itinerary, which is a 245-day voyage spanning 6 continents, 51 countries, 111 ports, Transatlantic crossing (RepositionCruises.com) and passing through Suez Canal.
Departing from London-Greenwich on the 930-passenger liner Viking Sun, the longest-ever continuous voyage will fully circumnavigate the world bringing cruiser tourists to some of the most legendary cities, far-flung destinations, and iconic landmarks, before returning to London UK in May 2020.
In beginning the journey, Viking Cruises will attempt to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for the "longest continuous passenger cruise." An official GUINNESS WORLD RECORD Adjudicator is expected to confirm the successful attempt with a certificate presentation upon the return of the ship to London in 2020.
