For season 2021, Hurtigruten offers its customers the choice between new expedition cruises on revamped ships (retrofitted with hybrid propulsion) or the classic Norwegian coastal voyages which itinerary visits a total of 34 ports between homeports Bergen and Kirkenes. The company's 2021 program includes departures from the UK, Norway, and Germany.
Hurtigruten invites passengers to explore the Norway's coast in line with their personal desires and from their preferred port of embarkation. The expedition cruises are accessible from both Dover UK and Hamburg Germany, as well as through a direct route from Bergen.
The cruises will be operated by MS Trollfjord, MS Finnmarken, and MS Midnatsol which, following extensive drydock refurbishments, will be renamed, respectively, MS Maud, MS Otto Sverdrup, and MS Eirik Raude.
Hurtigruten’s Science Center will be added to all 3 ships and packed with high-tech gadgets like touch screens, science equipment, and other interactive features. A total of 9 new call ports are handpicked for the inaugural itineraries of the three renovated ships, combined with traditional Hurtigruten Norwegian ferry ports, depending on embarkation port/homeport and season.
Coastal guides are expected to enhance the experience of Norwegian wildlife, nature, outdoor living, and culture, or as the Norwegians call it, ’Friluftsliv.’
