Princess Cruises accomplished another milestone in preparation for the debut of the line's newest ship, Sky Princess, with the successful completion of sea trials.
The newbuild set out to sea from the construction dock at Monfalcone's Fincantieri Shipyard and was put through a series of maneuvers to test the steering, propulsion, and navigational equipment.
Following a successful 6 days of trials, Sky Princess is back in the shipyard for further interior and exterior finishing to prepare for the inaugural cruise (October 20) 7-day Mediterranean and Adriatic itinerary from Piraeus-Athens to Barcelona. The inaugural season has a series of Mediterranean voyages before the 14-day Transatlantic repositioning crossing from Barcelona to North America (debuting from the USA on December 1, 2019) with Caribbean roundtrips from homeport Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale FL).
