Another major storm of 2019’s hurricane season is due to impact Bermuda. Hurricane Humberto is forecasted to reach Bermuda Island on Wednesday, September 17.
According to USA's NHC-National Hurricane Center (part of NOAA/National Weather Service), the Bahamas (heavily affected by Hurricane Dorian in September) will be spared this time as the area will not be directly impacted - like Bermuda. The same is predicted for the Southeast US coast that is also expected to see swells but little impact. The rest of the Atlantic USA will not be impacted. NHC’s projected path for Humberto has the storm traveling out into the Atlantic Ocean and away from the USA.
Carnival Cruise Line changed planned voyages for the ships Carnival Pride and Carnival Sunrise, that were both scheduled to visit Bermuda this week.
- Carnival Pride, planned for a 7-day Bermuda itinerary from homeport Baltimore MD, will skip Bermuda and visit instead Amber Cove Dominicana and Grand Turk.
- Carnival Sunrise, which left NYC New York on a 6-day Bermuda voyage on Monday, will now stop in Charleston SC on Wednesday, then will arrive at Kings Wharf on September 20 before returning to NYC on September 22.
- Carnival Breeze, which is currently on a 7-day roundtrip from Port Canaveral, will be cruising as scheduled.
