Carnival Ecstasy arrived at Freeport Bahamas on Monday, October 7, to undergo a planned drydock refurbishment. The passenger liner is scheduled for a 10-day drydocking project. During that time, a number of enhancements will take place, including the addition of a Video Arcade (24-hour, with arcade machines, motorbike simulators, foosball/table soccer), Dreams Studio (photo sessions studio), Bonsai Sushi Express (complimentary Sushi Bar, open 5-8 pm). Upgrades were made to the Fun Shops. Carpeting was replaced shipwide. Most public areas were freshened up.
Once the vessel emerges from drydock,it will resume the year-round schedule of 4- and 5-day Bahamas itineraries roundtrip from homeport JAXPORT (Jacksonville FL). The vessel is expected to return to service on October 17.
From now through the end of 2019, Grand Bahama Shipyard has planned 15 cruise ship drydocks.
