One of the Vanuatu Islands - Lelepa (South Pacific Ocean) - will become a Royal Caribbean private island destination – "Perfect Day at Lelepa". Vanuatu’s Prime Minister (Charlot Salwai) and RCI-Royal Caribbean President and CEO Michael Bayley, both made the announcement of the new project.
According to Salwai and Bayley, the RCI's new island destination will be created to showcase the diverse local culture and natural ecological beauty of the island nation, provide education and employment opportunities.
“Perfect Day at Lelepa” will be built with sustainability features specially designed to safeguard the ecosystems of the island and will be the world's first carbon-neutral private cruise destination.
The Australian sustainable, design-focused contemporary architectural company Cox Architecture will serve as the project's lead architect.
