Explorer Dream ship is scheduled for homeporting in Auckland NZ in the period between December 2019 and February 2020, bringing to New Zealand over a dozen new food-and-beverage venues, a state-of-the-art spa complex, a suite complex with private butlers, VR gaming and simulators.
The formerly named SuperStar Virgo, Explorer Dream was renamed after a USD 85 million drydock refurbishment.
Launched in 1999 as "SuperStar Virgo" (for Star Cruises), since 2019 Explorer Dream is part of Dream Cruises fleet.
Both companies (Star Cruises and Dream Cruises) are fully owned by the Malaysian corporation Genting Group. Vessel's new fleetmates are the premium liners Genting Dream (2016) and World Dream (2017).
