Costa Cruises announced it had been notified by the Finnish Meyer shipyard in Turku, Finland of a further delay in the building of its new flagship Costa Smeralda.
As a result of the delay, the first Costa Smeralda sailing will depart from Savona, Italy on December 21. The itinerary, repeated through May 16, 2020, remains unchanged: Savona (on Saturday), Marseille (on Sunday), Barcelona (on Monday), Palma de Mallorca (on Tuesday), Civitavecchia (on Thursday) and La Spezia (on Friday).
Costa Cruises said it was sincerely sorry for what had happened and is currently informing the travel agencies and passengers booked on Costa Smeralda voyages from November 30 through December 20, 2019, that can no longer take place.
