After having been towed fifty miles for nearly a day at sea, the hull of the Global Dream ship arrived safely at the place where it is due to be assembled and fitted out. Thousands watched it come into Wismar port at about 4:00 p.m. on November 23.
Global Dream will be finally assembled in Wismar's dock hall. After undocking in 2020, she will be fitted out at the renovated Quay 4. A 125-meter high crane specially acquired for work on Global Class vessels will be used to install deck structures like a water park and a roller coaster.
The flagship of the Global Class, Global Dream, is designed for Asia's fast-growing cruise market. With length 342 meters and width 46 meters, the vessel will have a maximum capacity of 9500 passengers, which is a world record.
Global Dream is scheduled for delivery to Dream Cruises in 2021.
