On Tuesday, November 26, Port Valletta welcomed the first visit of one of the newest and most environmentally-advanced cruise ships at sea - MSC Grandiosa. A ceremony was held onboard the 6,334-passenger liner to commemorate her maiden call to the port of registry and conduct the traditional exchange of crests between the local authorities and ship’s Command.
The newest MSC liner was delivered on October 31 at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique Shipyard (Saint-Nazaire) and is heavily equipped with a range of leading-edge environmental technologies. With this ship, MSC Cruises marked another significant milestone in its journey to zero-emissions operations.
For the next 12 months, MSC Grandiosa is due to be deployed in the Western Mediterranean before she is deployed to South America for the 2020 winter season.
