The same NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line liner where a number of passengers became ill last week docked again at Port Los Angeles (San Pedro) on Sunday, December 1, with norovirus infected passengers. Paramedics in San Pedro were on standby to evaluate 19 people from Norwegian Joy, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) announced.
LAFD received a call at 5:10 am, before the ship arriving at Port San Pedro. None of the patients had requested to be hospitalized.
On November 24, paramedics were sent to Berth 91 at Los Angeles port at 9:17 am and evaluated 6 passengers, determining that 4 of them required hospital treatment, Brian Humphrey of the LAFD revealed.
NCL Joy departed on a 7-day, round-trip "Jewels of the Mexican Riviera: Cabo & Puerto Vallarta" cruise from Los Angeles, San Pedro-Long Beach CA on November 24.
