In December 2021, sustainable expedition cruise ship operator Hurtigruten is offering its guests the opportunity to experience the solar eclipse from one of a couple of expedition ships.
The total solar eclipse on December 4, 2021, will only be visible from Antarctica (weather permitting), and the first hybrid expedition ship in the world, MS Roald Amundsen, and sistership MS Fram will be in the prime position outside South Orkney Islands to see the spectacular natural phenomenon.
At the same time, experts will give insights and lectures about the solar eclipse as a supplement to the line's regular lectures on marine biology, glaciology, history, and other topics.
