Passengers sailing aboard Silversea’s superyachts Silver Whisper and Silver Cloud enjoyed a rare moment in the line’s history when the two vessels met in Wilhelmina Bay, Antarctica on February 4, 2020.

The unique rendezvous was a pioneering moment as Silver Whisper became the first ship to visit Antarctica on a World Cruise. The ultra-luxury ship embarked upon the 7-continent ‘Legends of Cruising’ on January 6 and guests spent 4 days exploring the Antarctic Peninsula between February 4-7.

During the 4-day Antarctica experience, guests enjoyed immersive expedition activities, such as expert-led Zodiac tours and adventures, as well as enriching lectures and workshops from Silversea’s Expedition Team.

Each year, from mid-November through February, the line’s passengers travel deeper into Antarctica, exploring the icy waters, geothermal beaches, and glaciers, and admiring the unique wildlife of the continent. Starting December 2021, Silversea is making it easier to explore the White Continent with the revolutionary Antarctica Bridge - a luxury fly-cruise service enabling travellers to fly over the Drake Passage in business class in approx 2 hours each way.

Guests seeking the ultimate expedition experience will be attracted to the line’s first-ever Expedition World Cruise - the ‘Uncharted World Tour’.

Departing from Ushuaia on January 30, 2021, passengers traveling on the 167-day odyssey can enjoy an immersive exploration of the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula, before sailing through the South Pacific, Australia, Indonesia, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, and the Norwegian Arctic.
