NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line unveiled the renovated Norwegian Spirit following a more than USD 100 million refurbishment as part of NCL's "Norwegian Edge" fleet renovation program.
NCL Spirit ship emerged from a 43-day drydock in Marseille France to arrive in Civitavecchia-Rome, boasting 14 brand new venues, enhanced public areas, updated and additional staterooms, new hull art.
The liner will set sail on a series of 17-, 20-, and 28-day expeditions spanning 3 continents, departing from Civitavecchia on February 14, 2020; Dubai on March 2, 2020; and Cape Town on March 22, 2020, prior to homeporting in Piraeus for the first time on April 19, 2020. NCL Spirit will offer a season of 7-day sailings to the Greek Isles, Turkey, and Israel through November 8, 2020.
The vessel will emerge from drydock single-use plastic beverage bottle free, which is part of a significant effort to provide passengers with more sustainable options. As of January 1, 2020, NCL-Norwegian is the first major cruise shipping company to eliminate single-use plastic beverage bottles fleetwide, via partnership with JUST Goods Inc.
