Sir Richard Branson on Friday, February 21, unveiled his first-ever Virgin Voyages ship in Dover UK.
Scarlet Lady is the first of 4 new luxury ships from Virgin, which aims to ‘redefine the cruise industry by bringing the luxe of a boutique hotel to the seas’.
Scarlet Lady sailed into Dover UK, where she is currently berthed and will soon make her way to Liverpool and then across to the United States with just 18 people onboard before making her maiden voyage around the Caribbean in April 2020.
Interiors are courtesy of Roman & Williams as well as Tom Dixon, with clashing prints and bold hues the new hallmark of the fleet. The liner also has a wellness focus, with her B-Complex gym programs, an outdoor yoga area, and group workouts.
Passengers will be able to choose from more than 20 eateries onboard, including experiential creations (Test Kitchen), vegetarian-forward cuisine (Razzle Dazzle), and concepts by world-class chefs like Michelin Starred Brad Farmerie and Sohui Kim.
Special on deck cruises with DJs like Mark Ronson, Diplo, MK, and Sofi Tukker is due to draw in a Millennial crowd, who will delight in Scarlet Lady’s eco-focus – she uses Climeon, a tech that utilizes energy from the engine to create electricity which decreases the fuel demand.
