Quark Expeditions’ new polar expedition ship Ultramarine was launched at the Brodosplit shipyard (Split, Croatia) on Saturday, May 16.
The vessel has LOA length 128 m, beam/width 22 m, GT tonnage 13500 tons, max passenger capacity 200 (plus 140 crew), 102 staterooms, 8 decks (4 with cabins). The newbuild features two helipads, advanced safety systems latest maritime technologies. In keeping with Quark Expeditions’ Polar Promise sustainability program, the cruise ship will include technical features that minimize its environmental footprint to an extent previously unseen for a ship of this size.
Quark Ultramarine's inaugural cruise season includes voyages in the Canadian Arctic (including Northwest Passage), Greenland, Spitsbergen Norway.
