Due to the ongoing travel restrictions, TUI UK & Ireland (Marella's managing company) confirmed that is extending the cancellations of all Marella Cruises through July 31, 2020, and all beach holidays through June 30.
The UK's largest travel company, TUI previously announced that Marella Cruises’ summer 2020 program will start in July with 3 of Marella's all 5 ships, “should it be safe to set sail”.
Clients with cancelled bookings receive a refund FFC (future cruise credit). In case booking was for a package holiday, they also get an up to 20% incentive, or they can request a cash refund through an online form on the TUI website.
All passengers should receive their refunds within 4 weeks before the original departure date. Those who booked on TUI / First Choice website or via the TUI / First Choice app can amend the booking via "Manage my Booking".
Vacationers due to travel before the end of August 2020 have the opportunity to amend their sailing for free so they do not have to pay until closer to the new departure date.
In early-May, Marella announced it would be retiring Marella Celebration earlier than planned. The liner was operated under charter (being owned by Carnival Corporation) and will be either sold or scrapped.
