Police are probing the discovery of the body of a young woman who was working as a crew member aboard an RCI-Royal Caribbean cruise ship docked at Port Bridgetown Barbados.
An assistant waiter aboard Harmony of the Seas, Maria Jocson was found Tuesday afternoon, June 9, hanging by a bedsheet from the balcony of her cabin, police revealed.
Acting Police Public Relations Officer Inspector Rodney Inniss said that he was not in a position to report on the woman's nationality, but added she was 28 years old.
Investigations are continuing.
Harmony OTS is currently docked in Port Bridgetown and carrying ~2000 crew waiting for charter-flight repatriation.
Many crew remained on cruise ships during the period of service suspension due to the pandemic, now approaching 3 months. 9 crew members ended their lives awaiting repatriation back home.
