AIDA Cruises announced it is planning to resume its operations with the first liners from German ports at the beginning of September. The prerequisite for the change was the flag state Italy's approval for the restart concepts.
The first sailings from Kiel Germany will start on September 6. The first voyages with AIDAperla to the Norwegian fjords commence from Hamburg on September 12, 19, and 26.
In the coming days, the cruise line will review the specific details of the decision and will work closely with the responsible Italian authorities and the classification society to carefully implement the new regulations and protocols in the sense of a responsible restart onboard AIDA Cruises ships.
As the current development shows, not in all travel destinations in Europe the prerequisites for safe travel are given. Due to the current situation, AIDA Cruises has to extend the pause of its cruise season through September 30, 2020, except for the departures from Kiel (starting from September 6) and Hamburg (starting from September 12).
