Viking Crew (part of the Dover UK-based Viking Maritime Group) was appointed as the Crew Manager of the newbuild superyacht Scenic Eclipse, commencing management from August 19.
The 2019-launched Scenic Eclipse is owned by Scenic Group. Viking Crew's appointment as the crew manager adds to the portfolio of international clients of the company within the cruise and superyacht industries.
MS Scenic Eclipse will make full use of Viking Crew services across Management, Deployment, and Placement, as Viking Crew is responsible for the international Officers & Crew across Engine, Hotel, and Deck. Scenic Eclipse will utilize the facilities at Maritime Skills Academy and place cadets onboard via Chiltern Maritime - part of Viking Maritime Group.
According to Paul Rutterford, Operations Director of Viking Crew, "the appointment of the crew management contract with Scenic Eclipse is a further acknowledgement of the professionalism, knowledge and industry experience within Viking Crew."
Captain James Griffiths, Director of Marine Operations of Scenic Eclipse said that their partnership would "give Scenic Group access to Viking Maritime Group services and their unique experience with start-ups, expedition vessels and the ultra-luxury market."
Viking Crew will be responsible for the crew management of Emerald Azzurra and Scenic Eclipse 2 when they enter service in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
