The British company CMV-Cruise and Maritime Voyages had 6 ships in its fleet when it ceased trading in July 2020. CMV also planned two new vessels to join the fleet in 2021.
Astor, Columbus, Magellan, Marco Polo and Vasco Da Gama have been put up for sale, with each being sold under a separate deal.
The ships’ sale is brokered by CW Kellock & Co, with a deadline for the sale between October 8-22, 2020. It has not been disclosed how much the cruise ships will go for, but it is likely to be in the tens of millions.
The 556-passenger Astoria is currently not up for sale by auction, as she was due to leave the fleet in October 2020.
It has not been announced what is happening to Amy Johnson (Pacific Dawn) and Ida Pfeiffer (Pacific Aria), the duo CMV purchased from P&O Australia in 2019 that were expected to enter CMV service in 2021.
4 of the CMV boats are currently docked in Port Tilbury-London, one is in Bristol Avonmouth.
The sale comes despite the recent news that the former CMV owner is planning on relaunching the now-defunct cruise line.
