New detail in the painting of RCI-Royal Caribbean's Odyssey of the Seas has been unveiled.
The name of the new ship, which is currently being built at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg Germany, will immediately catch your eye as this is not, as is usual with Royal Caribbean, up on the side in the bow area of the liner, but just above the waterline. The name of the ship is also in an unfamiliar size.
Odyssey of the Seas' name measures a length of 87.4 meters. The "O" letter alone, which is the biggest one, is 11.2 meters high and becomes the most interesting feature of the new lettering when in use. If one looks closely at the lettering can immediately notice that the "O" is deliberately immersed in the water during operation. The final visual effect will become clear at a later date.
Odyssey OTS was actually planned for delivery in autumn 2020, but because of COVID-related delays, the new Royal Caribbean ship will not go into service until 2021.
