Following Costa Deliziosa and Costa Diadema, from October 10, Costa Smeralda will also restart cruise shipping. For Smeralda, Costa Cruises designed a new 7-day roundtrip (Italy-only) itinerary.
A total of 5 departures (scheduled from October 10 through November 7) allow Italian travelers to visit only Italian port cities from which to enjoy land-based attractions and taste the traditional local cuisine.
The itinerary's homeport is Savona, from where are visited Genoa (or Finalborgo), La Spezia (tours to Cinque Terre, Lerici and Florence-Pisa), Cagliari Sardinia and Naples (tours to Pompei, Sorrento, Royal Palace in Caserta) and Messina Sicily (tours to Etna volcano, Taormina, Civitavecchia-Rome, Tarquinia).
Onboard Costa Smeralda the Costa Safety Protocol is to be applied, developed by the company together with scientific experts. It includes new operational measures tailored to the current needs of the COVID situation, compliant with the relevant provisions defined by the European and Italian authorities.
Starting from November 14, 2020, Costa Smeralda is due to resume her week-long itinerary in Italy, France and Spain, departing again from homeport Savona.
