Australian and New Zealand cruise-related businesses that have been devastated by the suspension of voyages will voice their support for a planned revival in a video series launched this month by CLIA-Cruise Lines International Association.
Under the #WeAreCruise banner of CLIA, the videos highlight the economic impact suffered by local businesses as well as the 25,000 jobs that are at risk across Australasia while the industry remains at anchor.
An initial 4 videos will be released on social media as part of the campaign that aims to raise awareness of the impact on the region’s $5 billion-a-year cruise industry. The videos tell the personal stories of people within the Australasian community.
According to Joel Katz (CLIA Australasia's Managing Director), cruise companies had "committed to extensive new health measures to support future operations," and it was vital to plan for a carefully controlled and phased resumption of local cruising.
