Announcing the new 2022 Arctic and 2022-2023 Antarctic polar cruise seasons 3 months earlier than usual and unveiling a return to West Greenland for the first time in 4 years top the list for Poseidon Expeditions’ plans for the 114-passenger expedition vessel MV Sea Spirit.
New for the 2022 Arctic season is the return to West Greenland, last visited by Sea Spirit in early summer 2018. The 2022 West Greenland expedition cruises include a May 27, 11-night Land of the Vikings, out of Reykjavik Iceland to Kangerlussuaq Greenland, and a June 7, 7-night Icebergs, Whales & Inuit Culture, roundtrip from Kangerlussuaq.
In midsummer, Sea Spirit is scheduled to head farther northeast for a full list of departures that explore Svalbard and the line’s signature explorations of Franz Josef Land Archipelago prior to returning to East Greenland in September for a couple of 11-day Arctic Sights and Northern Lights voyages that focus on Aurora Borealis.
MV Sea Spirit is following the sun south in October to commence her 2022-2023 Antarctic season. It includes 4 Antarctic Peninsula cruises of 11-12 days; 3 longer programs that feature the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia, and the Falklands, from 21-23 days, as well as the popular 14-night, Crossing 66º South Latitude expedition voyage.
All reservations made for any 2022 Arctic and 2022-2023 Antarctic sailing by June 30, 2021, will benefit from 10%-15% early booking savings. An additional early-booking feature for reservations made by December 31, 2020, is a US$250 per person onboard credit.
