A pair of MSC Cruises ships departed from South America and headed on a transatlantic journey back to Europe.
The cancelation of the South American season for MSC Sinfonia and MSC Musica comes after closing Uruguay's borders and Brazil’s decision to restrict the entry of foreigners for 30 days, Brazilian media reported.
On November 26, MSC Sinfonia departed from Salvador de Bahia and is sailing to the port of Trieste, Italy where she is due to arrive on December 26.
MSC Cruises' Musica ship departed from Santos (Sao Paulo), Brazil, and is scheduled to arrive in Tenerife, Canary Islands on December 10.
The third MSC Cruises ship in Brazil, MSC Seaview, is currently off the coast of Santos, Brazil pending the approval of the health & safety protocol by the local authorities in order to allow operations to resume.
The cruise company plans to restart operations aboard Seaview on January 16, 2021, with departures from Rio de Janeiro and Santos for Brazilian residents only.
